About me

With over 30 years of experience working with vehicles since starting as an apprentice mechanic in Gloucester, Logic Auto Electrical brings practical knowledge and specialist diagnostic expertise to every job.

Electrical faults in modern vehicles can be complex and, in many cases, are not immediately obvious. Proper diagnosis often requires a structured approach, time, and careful testing to accurately identify the root cause.

Because of this, it isn’t always possible to provide a fixed price in advance for diagnostic work. The time required can vary depending on the nature of the fault, accessibility of components, and the systems involved.

Diagnostic work is therefore charged on an hourly basis. Once on site, we will assess the situation and keep you informed as the investigation progresses, so you remain in control of how much time is spent.

Our aim is always to identify the fault as efficiently as possible, avoiding unnecessary parts replacement and helping you make informed decisions about any repairs.

In many cases, accurate diagnosis can save the cost of replacing unnecessary parts.

Specialist Manufacturer Software

Logic Auto Electrical uses a range of professional diagnostic equipment, including manufacturer-specific tools where required.

This includes:

Official Jaguar Land Rover diagnostic software for module programming and configuration
VCDS (VAG-COM) software for Volkswagen Audi Group vehicles (VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda)

These tools allow deeper access to vehicle systems, enabling accurate diagnosis and correct configuration of modules when required.

Some vehicles require manufacturer-specific tools for accurate diagnosis and configuration. We invest in these systems to ensure faults are diagnosed correctly.

However, we continue to provide electrical diagnostics across all makes and models of vehicles.

Diagnostic scan tools

Most scan tools do not identify the actual failed component. They may indicate a sensor fault, but the root cause could be a wiring issue, poor connection, or communication problem within the system.
